Provisional Fabrication Skills

DCDS is pleased to provide dental assisting skills training through the DCDS Dental Assisting School. This course is a four (4) hour CERP-Certified course intended to enhance the clinical skills of licensed dental professionals. To register, please email Angela Bush, DCDS Dental Assisting School Program Director, at angela@dcds.org.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hold a current licensed issued by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners as an RDA, RDH, DDS, or DMD.
  • Submit a completed application
  • Pay the seminar fee

SEMINAR (WORKSHOP) FEE:

The fee for the four (4) hour course is $125 which includes all necessary PPE, supplies, and supplemental materials.

CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY:

  • The cancellation/refund deadline is a week (7 days) prior to the course.
  • A 20% administrative fee will be assessed for all cancellation requests on or prior to this date.
  • Since this is a limited attendance course, “no shows” will forfeit the full course fee.
  • No refunds will be granted after seven (7) days prior to the course.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this workshop, students will be able to correctly fabricate and cement provisional crowns and bridges during patient care.

STUDENTS WILL LEARN:

  • How to take a quality preliminary impression
  • How to choose the proper shade for provisional coverage
  • How to select the appropriate cement and obtain luting consistency
  • How load and dispense resin type temporary material
  • How to fabricate acrylic provisional crowns, trim, and polish
  • Proper trimming to maintain margins and contacts
  • How to clean cement
  • Delivery of post-op instructions
