Dentists graduate from dental school educated and with experience to offer oral health care services to the public. It’s a lot of work and quite an achievement but for most, it’s only the beginning. Many dentists become associates or partners in a private practice and some go on to own and operate dental practices. In many cases, a career in private practice can be a lot of responsibilities with the well being of many families sustained by the practice. All the while, the practice offers oral health care to a significant part of the community.
It’s a lot of responsibility. That’s why the Dallas County Dental Society offers an annual leadership program for members. Our goal is to help members maximize their productivity in all phases of their lives, as dentists, business owners and as effective people.
Right now, three American Dental Association dentists serve in U.S. Congress. One of our local DCDS members, Dr. John Findley is a former mayor. Our leadership program recognizes the vast potential for our members to lead in the community. Our program helps interested members develop skills and strategies to positively impact all walks of their life including church, community organizations, local and international missions, politics, business and in their families.
Our member dentists spend their life learning and improving. This provides them tools to be better dentists and better people. Is your dentist a member? Why not ask?
