Give Kids a Smile Dallas

 Each year on the first Friday in February, thousands of the nation's dentists and their dental team members provide free oral health care services to children from low-income families across the country. The ADA's Give Kids A Smile® program enhances the oral health of large numbers of needy children.

In 2010, Give Kids A Smile Dallas was a two-day event at the Pediatric Dental Suite located at Martin Luther King Jr. Family Clinic. The clinic and DCDS volunteers partnered with ChildCare Group, which is responsible for providing care for thousands of children from low-income families. DCDS pediatric dentists provided free dental work for those children. Drs. Dane Hoang, Courtney Keel, Harold Simpson, Teri Train, Alex Villasenor, and Donna Barefield volunteered for the event.

117 children received a total of $30,036 in dental care!
